Citation Style Information

Below are links to various sources of information about documentation styles, also known as style sheets. Many of these are abbreviated versions of the style guides. For complete information you should refer to the printed style sheets. They are available in the Reference area of the Schwob Library. Some older editions may be available to check out. Please ask for assistance at the Reference Desk. Currently available are:

CBE (Council of Biology Editors) / CSE (Council of Science Editors)

NOTE: UNLESS YOUR PROFESSOR TELLS YOU OTHERWISE for CBE style reference lists cite all full text articles printed from GALIILEO or JSTOR databases as if they were print articles. Use the citation to the print version included with the article for your information. CBE uses a name-year rather than a name-page-year system for references within the text, so it makes little differences whether the article is printed full text from a database or photocopied from a print source.
