The Zions of Africa: Non-Nicean Christianities of Modern Africa
This presentation will focus upon an on-going research project that explores the theological nature of modern African Christian churches known collectively as Zionist. Zionist churches are often derided by the Western world for possessing "improper" theologies and Christologies. However, far from being weakly Christian, my presentation will suggest that these African theologies are very anciently Christian indeed as they bear many commonalities with non-Nicean Christianities. Though non-Western, they are no less Christian than other Christian options throughout time and space.
