Systems Department

Mission Statement

The Systems Department supports the Columbus State University Libraries' mission by managing the Libraries' computer hardware, computer software, and electronic resources; maintaining the Libraries' web site; and serving as the technology resource for the Libraries and the liaison to the Computer Information and Networking Services (CINS) Department.

Activities

• Assist library staff and patrons with computer hardware and software issues
• Design and run custom Voyager/GIL reports
• Develop and maintain the Libraries' web sites
• Evaluate and recommend purchases for computer furniture, hardware and software
• Plan and implement library technology
• Maintain library computer hardware
• Maintain usage statistics for electronic resources
• Manage access to electronic databases and journal subscriptions via GALILEO and EZProxy
• Evaluate book multimedia licenses
• Serve as the local systems administrator for Voyager/GIL, ILLiad, and Ariel software
• Submit work orders to CINS
